COILERS AND WINDERS
The Series 5 range of single and twin-head reelers (photo A1) are designed for the low-tension coiling of plastic or rubber tube, hose, pipe and profile.
The main benefits to the user are:
- Low tension coiling removes the possibility of the extrusion being stretched or distorted as it is being coiled.
- We offer a choice of Uhing® roller-box or servo motor traverse mechanisms for perfect layering control.
- Wide range of quick change mandrels and coiling heads.
- Accurate length measuring of coil lengths with ultra-precise encoder systems
- Option to have an automatic cutter installed.
- Easy-to-use controls with option of PLC and touch-screens for easier organization.
- New technology reduces maintenance downtime considerably.
Mode of Operation
The coiling heads can either be fitted with stub shafts to accept customer’s own reels of with a range of collapsible ‘self-tie’ coiling assemblies.
A fully automatic traverse mechanism is provided to ensure neat side-by-side layering from start to finish. The traverse is easily set to suit tube and profile from 1 to 50 mm wide. For basic reeling applications a Uhing® roller box system is used to control the traverse. For more complex and delicate applications a servo controlled traverse mechanism is recommended.
An auto-stop facility stops each coil when the correct amount of material has been wound-on. Twin length counters can be supplied to make it possible to set different lengths for each coil head.
The maximum coiling speed is set using a ten-turn potentiometer. The coiling tension and exact matching of linespeed is achieved by either a light-weight dancing arm or an ultra-sonic loop detector.
A guillotine cut-off facility is available as an option as are a wide variety of different coil heads, including collapsible mandrels.
